Weekend getaway @ Langkah Syabas

*Plenty of pics ahead, just to warn you ;p

We were supposed to visit the Zoo during the last weekend of January in line with our animal week, but there was a changed in plan and instead we went to Langkah Syabas, a resort by the beach. Apparently my husband misses the beach. So beach bum zoo plan! Get it? Okay so lame haha!

And I have decided to extend animal week since we haven't done much activities on animal related except for animal puzzle, flashcard and old McDonald had a farm sing a long! So zoo plan will be postponed and animal week is still on. Mika love animals anyway and we have plenty of materials yet to be explored.

So off we went to Langkah Syabas Resort which is located in Kinarut, about 20 minute drive away from where we stay. The accommodations are chalet type and most are facing the pool, which is the main reason we decided to come here - for the pool and this place have 2 swimming pools! Yay! We've been taking Mika to swimming pool to get him comfortable in water and hopefully ready for a swimming lesson soon.

We arrived around noon and it was a hot day so Abah treated Mika to an ice cream by the pool.

Enjoying his ice cream

After ice cream we changed, slap on sunblock and jumped straight into the pool

Mika was so excited he kept screaming and laughing the whole time we were in the pool! Don't think the other guests resting in their chalet were very pleased.

All wrapped up in his green towel. I love the towel, fell in love the moment I saw it. Got it in Ikea, about RM39 I think.

After pool we decided to take a walk in the garden, well Mummy and Abah walked while Mika was running and jumping around, too happy to be let loose.

Mika saw a cat sleeping on the walkway, YAY for animal week!

Mika called "Miow miow miow"

And then he started harassing the poor kitty!

Kitty got scared and went to hide under a trolley.
Mika, thinking that everything can be pushed around like Mummy and Abah, tried to push the trolley aside but not much success hehe. Mummy just observed from a distance...

until Mika decided he wanted to go under the trolley as well, Mummy had to quickly run after Mika. Kitty got away safely :)

After chasing poor kitty away Mika decided to join Abah for a walk by the beach. He started walking funny because he got sand all over his shoes which he didn't like. I took off his shoes and he still didn't like it, gave me a sad worried look so I put his shoes back on.

He was very tired after all the afternoon activities and we all took a short nap. Bliss!

And this is Mummy waving to Abah as he left the room to take some sunset photos. Mika totally zonked out we had to wake him up to get ready for dinner.

While walking to dinner, we were greeted with another interesting sight.

There was a sheep just relaxing on the garden haha! Double YAY for animal week! Mika of course got very excited :)

Hello Mr. Sheep! (Or is it Mrs?)

And this is my hero attempting to communicate with Mr. Sheep. And he kept saying "miow miow miow". No wonder the sheep didn't respond to you Mika, you used the wrong language hehe.

Mika looking pleased and amused while Mr. Sheep is NOT! Hihihi.

After much persuasion to leave Mr Sheep alone and a thorough hand washing, we went to dinner. I had the meat pie which was just ok to me but my husband said it was very nice. He ordered lamb steak (coincidence?) and he said it was the best ever in Kota Kinabalu!

And since we were on holiday, Mummy decided to allow dessert after dinner for Mika because Mummy wanted one too haha! We shared a chocolate crepe. Mika always insist on feeding himself and here's the aftermath, chocolate sauce all over!

And he loved it :)

After all that sugar, there was no way Mika would be sleeping early. So we did a bit of TOT playtime, yes even on a holiday :)

Mika is obsessed with gigo blocks especially the red hammer!

One shot of his typical 'cute lion face' *melt*

A bit of reading before bed! Mika really love this book and I got it real cheap at Popular :)

The next day after breakfast, we decided to take Mika to the beach again for a little Montessori playtime. Mummy got Montessori on her mind all the time :)

At the beach, I took Mika's sandals off and nudged him towards the sand but he gave me a worried look again. I took off my sandals and walked on the sand to show him that it was fine, he walked funny towards me and we walked together to the beach holding hands.

I love moments like this. Abah was not around because he went to the car to take Mika's beach toys, I wished he was around to capture this moment on camera because I want to remember it forever *teary-eye*

After a short while, he was walking and running barefoot on the beach :)

We threw some sands, build sand castle, burried abah's foot with sand, plenty of sand fun!

Abah managed to catch a tiny crab to show Mika. He wasn't impressed at all haha!

Mika threw sand on our picnic mat.

After some fun at the beach, we head to the pool for a quick swim and checked out about 12 noon.

It was a lovely short holiday and I hope we could do a lot more short trips like this so Mika can explore and experience new things. The more you see the more you learn right :)

Next adventure for little Mika?

The Lokawi Zoo; hopefully this weekend (pleaseeee Abah!)

Till then :)
